CHEESY MEATBALL SUBS

In high school my very first real paying job was Subway in Memorial Hospital. I loved subway. I ate there often before I started working there. I would always get the meatball subs and top it with cheese and spices.

When I moved out on my own, I tried to recreate a meatball sub. My first couple of times were horrible, but I finally nailed the recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

CHEESY MEATBALL SUBS

Mix ground beef and turkey together. Add in your onion powder, crushed red peppers, Italian seasoning, granulated Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Using your hands mix together and form medium to large meatballs.

You can cook the meatballs either in the oven or in the air fryer for 20 – 25 minutes depending on the size of your meat balls. If you baking your meatballs bake on 375 degrees.

While your meatballs are cooking start your sauce. If you don’t have time to make you sauce from scratch use this recipe. Add in both jars of tomato sauce, basil, crack pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, minced garlic, and taste paste. Stir ingredients together and simmer on low. Once meatballs are done, add in your meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes.

LET’S MAKE SUBS

Take your hoogie bread and cut it open. *Get the hoagie fresh from the bakery.* Add your shredded parmesan cheese to the bottom of the hoagie, then add a scoop of sauce on top. Take your meat balls and stuff the hoagie. Add more sauce and top with provolone cheese and Italian seasoning/oregano. Place in the oven and broil until cheese melts. Once cheese is melted, it’s time to eat!!!
